Extended Family Worries
My Uncle Johnnie and his wife Frances went up to Michigan this past week for his 45th High School Reunion. Well on Saturday his legs gave out on him. He was rushed to the hospital and they discovered he had a brain bleed. They transferred him to a bigger hospital in Saginaw and did surgery on him. He's sedated and on a ventilator and will be in ICU for a month. Then in the hospital for another month after that. I figure it'll be rehab since that is what happened with my Mom when she had a blood clot removed. I'm not sure though. It's bugging me to no end that they're so far from home. We're all in Texas except for one Uncle and he's in Arkansas so that's not too far either if something happened to him. Uncle Johnnie and Aunt Frances were always one of the first to get up here when my folks were in and out of the hospital over the last few years for all kinds of stuff. If they weren't here right away they'd always call and then come a few days later. I know if they were at home my Aunt wouldn't be all by herself either. Neither of their children are going up. That very well could be because my Aunt told them not to come yet or they're not able to yet. I'm pretty sure my Aunt told them not to come yet. My cousins husband is an ASS. He told my Uncle Freddie that if he wanted to know something not to call my Aunt Frances but to call him. This cousins husband likes to play that he's in charge. Fool that he is he's not. He better not tell me or my Mom to call him instead of Aunt Frances. I know she didn't tell him to tell the family that crap. Anyway, rambling like normal. I just need to be able to give my Aunt a hug. We're going to try to get a donation in her name for the place she's staying. They ask for a $20 donation a day to stay there. Some donation. If its a have to pay its not a donation. Anyway, I'm outta here!

First Line Friday
on Saturday!!!
Thanks Kathy. :) You can find Kathy at http://bagsbooksandbonjovi.blogspot.com/.
FIRST LINE FRIDAY...First lines have always intrigued me since I heard an author say that writing the first sentence is, by far, the most difficult part of writing a novel. The reasoning was that a first sentence can make the reader continue reading or cause the book to be tossed aside. So, go to your To Be Read Pile, choose as many books as you want and share the first line. Be sure to include the title and author so that if your reader also finds it intriguing, they can find the book. Also, share your thoughts about the first line. Does it draw you in? Is it...exciting...thought provoking...scary...funny?
I'm really excited to read a series of books by Diane Chamberlain. My friend Lori, who can be found here
http://lori-thequeensnewthrone.blogspot.com/ found her books and highly recommended them. I started reading her work and she's a very talented author. Anyway the series of books are Keeper of the Light, Kiss River and Her Mother's Shadow. I love when books span generations and I'm very into family sagas right now.

I'm finally to the final book in this series by Diane Chamberlain. It's called Her Mother's Shadow and I can't wait to get it started. It'll probably be tomorrow. Here's the first line.
Christmas 1990
There was cheer in the house in the heart of Manteo.
Cheating here because I know the back story to the first line but it should be a really good read too. It's about Lacey and how she wants to be just like her Mother who died but does she really? I can't wait to find out what happens with her.
Well,
I had to kick my nephew out. He broke two of the major rules involving my Dad's truck and disrespected me in the process so I told him he had to go. He tried to play on my husband's sympathy but hubby didn't fall for it. He's back at Grandma's house again. He'll be very restricted there for sure this time. No computer time, no truck to drive. Oh he bought a prepaid cell phone with some of his paycheck. Oohwee! He's one awesome guy huh? Hopefully he'll learn from all this mess that you can't expect people to help you out and then lie about stuff to get what you want out of them too.

Grab It Graphics - Black and White
I fell in love with black and white graphics again thanks to my friend Kathy. She had me make her a little black and white one with a quote and I just loved doing it. These are black and white with just a spot of color in each one. I went with flower pictures that I found on the internet. Some I colorized and some already had a beautiful color to it.

Yeah!!
My nephew got a job! It's just through a temp place but if he does the work at the company they'll hire him on full time. It's a start at least. Hopefully it'll work out for him. :)
